By the time Narayan Apte and Nathuram Godse returned to Delhi on January 27 for the second and final attempt on Mahatma Gandhi’s life, the equation between the two had changed. The man who had followed the lead of his more assertive partner had decided he would be the one to kill Gandhi. They take a train from Old Delhi Railway Station to Gwalior. They are in search of a weapon. The trail now leads to Vivekananda Colony, Phalka Bazaar, Gwalior. Here lives the son of the man who is believed to have arranged the 9 mm Beretta pistol, manufactured in Italy in 1934, with which Gandhi was shot dead. In 1935, Dattatreya Sadashiv Parchure started a branch of the Hindu Mahasabha in the princely state of Gwalior. To pay tribute to the Father of the Nation, Amity University Gwalior has also participated in this massive campaign. In the Swachchh Bharat Abhiyan initiated on Bapu’s birthday acting Vice Chancellor of Amity University, Prof. (Dr.) R S Tomar has called upon the teachers, staff members and students to take a pledge of Clean Campus, Clean, Gwalior and Clean India and administered the pledge to all the participants. All the teachers, authorities, staff members and students actively participated in this campaign and started the Swachchh Bharat Abhiyan by cleaning the area of Block-A of Amity University, Gwalior.

First lecture was delivered on 23.09.2014 by Dr. Manoj Prasad, Senior Scientist, National Institute of Plant Genome Research, New Delhi .  He delivered his talk on “ Biotechnological Applications for Agricultural Development and Food Security in India ”.
