THE LEGENDARY MUSICIAN OF HINDUSTANI CLASSICAL MUSIC Pt. Krishnarao Shankar Pandit  of Gwalior Gharana is acknowledged as a doyen of Hindustani Classical Music. He was born on 26 th July 1893.  Pt. Krishnaraoji was groomed at a very early age by his illustrious and devoted father Pt. Shankar Pandit who was legend in himself and the late Ustad Nissar Hussain Khan.  Not only was noted for his unique and incomparable vocal music but also for devoting his entire life to the service of music and its propagation amongst the masses. Ustaad Hafiz Ali Khan Sahib Most famous Sarod player, Ustad Hafiz Ali Khan Sahib was amongst one of the top artists of the country. He was born in Gwalior in 1888. He got his education of Sarod vadan from his father Shri Nanne Khan. He got education of Hori, Dhrupad Pt. Ganeshi Lal Maharaj, 11th pedigree of Swami Maharaj Haridas Thakur r/o Mathura and Chukka ju and education of Sursingar was accorded by Akbar's Navaratan Mishri Singh Binkar's and Ustad vazeer Khan, ustad of nawab Rampur.

Jan Nisar Akhtar  (Urdu: Ø¬Ø§Ù† نثار اختر‎; February 14, 1914 in Gwalior – August 19, 1976) was an important 20th century Indian poet of Urdu ghazals and nazms, and a part of the Progressive Writers' Movement, who was also a lyricist for Bollywood and the father of reknown lyricist in bollywood Javed Akhtar. In a career spanning four decade during which he worked with music composers including C. Ramchandra, O.P. Nayyar, N Dutta and Khayyam, he wrote 151 songs. Notable among them were songs from his breakthrough film, AR Kardar’s  Yasmin  (1955),  Aankhon hi Aankhon Mein  in Guru Dutt's C.I.D.  (1956),  Yeh dil aur unki nigahon ke saaye  in Prem Parbat (1974) and  Aaja re  in  Noorie  (1979) and his last song,  Ae Dil-e-naadaan , in Kamal Amrohi’s  Razia Sultan  (1983). His poetry works include  Nazr-e-Butaan ,  Salaasil ,  Javidaan ,  Pichali Pehar ,  Ghar Angan  and  Khaak-e-dil . Maharaja Jayaji Rao was succeeded by his son Maharaja Madhav Rao ,then years of age .A council of Regency was appointed which administered the state till 1894 when the Maharaja took the reins of government in his own hands . the Maharaja devoted himself heart and soul to the thorough overhauling and reorgation of the state departments acquired by him during his period of training enabled him to pick up flaws and remove then . Madhav Rao Scindia

Madhav rao Scindia was born to the last ruling Maharaja of Gwalior, Jivajirao Scindia. He was educated at the Scindia School, endowed by his family, in Gwalior, Winchester School and then at Oxford University. After Indian independence in 1947, his father acceded to the Indian government, and the kingdom of Gwalior became part of the new state of Madhya Bharat, which in 1956 was merged into Madhya Pradesh. Madhavrao followed the political tradition laid down by his mother Rajmata Vijayraje Scindia, who was elected to the Lok (parliament) in 1962.

Hazrat Mansoor Shah

Hazrat Mansoor Shah Sahib was the religious Guru of Scindia dynasty. He was basically a native of  Beed (Distt Aurangabad in Maharastra). Maratha Sardar Mahadji Scindia was badly wounded in battle with Ahmed shah Abdali at panipat and after his defeat he was not traceable. Scindia's wife who was native of Beed met Hazrat Mansoor Shah Sufi the Great saint of that time and prayed for the search of her missing husband.
